During this process, you will be asked to create a Billing Account with Google. At the time of this writing, obtaining the Google Maps API Key is free, although you must setup a Billing Account.
- Browse to the following link https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
- Click the following Get Started link:
- Either create or log into a Google account, such as your, or company’s email address.
- You should see this pop-up. Click Create Billing Account.
- Enter your country of residence, read & agree to Google’s Terms of Service.
- Be aware of all items you are agreeing to. Entrinsik Inc. is not financially or legally liable for you submitting this form.
- Complete the Customer Info section.
- Complete the Billing Method section and click ‘Start my Free Trial’.
- To use the Google Maps feature in Informer 5, click Maps and then Next.
- Either complete this section (optional) or Skip to the next action.
- Click Enable.
- You should be presented with the Google Map API key. This key is what you will use in Informer 5 to enable Google Maps functionality.
- In Informer 5, browse to Administration > Features and click Google Maps, paste the API key and click Save.
- If successful, the Google Maps slider will turn green
