Background:  Some firms have a setting to require Expense Categories on entry of Deltek Expense Reports (Configuration > Time & Expense > Company Expense) or have their Projects' Billing Terms set up to sort and group by Expense Category.  In these circumstances it is necessary to map your Concur Expense Types to your Deltek Vision Expense Categories.  To do this:

Professional Edition:

Step 1:  In Concur, inventory your Expense Types by browsing to Administration > Expense > Expense Admin

Step 2:  In Deltek Vision, browse to Configuration > General > User Defined Components and select the Blackbox Connector Configuration InfoCenter from the drop down menu.

Step 3:  Click on the Custom Grids tab, and locate the Grid "Concur EK Bypass Map"  - select this row and then locate the "Concur Account Code" column, clicking the ellipses (...) to bring up the list of values.

Step 4:  Enter in the exact text for each Concur Expense Type you have.  The values must match verbatim or categories will not map properly.

Step 5:  In Deltek, browse to Blackbox > Blackbox Connector Configuration and insert 1 line item per Company for each Concur Expense Type, relating to each expense Category.

FAQ:

Multiple Deltek Expense Category Tables?
If you used more than one Expense Group or Expense Category Table in Deltek, you must create a consolidated table called "Concur" or use the "All Groups" Expense Group table in Configuration > Time & Expense > Company Expense and Configuration > Time & Expense > Expense Categories.   If you are not using the "All Groups" table, you must assign employees to the new Concur Expense Category table you create.
