Typically, when a workstation is not able to launch Vision or is crashing the fix is to delete the local Vision client and allow it to download again on the next log in.
Deleting the 2.0 folder and rebooting the workstation will correct most workstation issues. The 2.0 folder is a folder that Vision creates upon login that creates the vision client on the local machine.
Locate and delete the 2.0 folder within the user's profile.
· For Windows XP/Server 2003:
o C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Apps\2.0
· For Windows 7,8.1,10/Server 2008:
o C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
After the 2.0 folder is deleted and the workstation rebooted, when the user launches Vision, it will reload the ClickOnce files.
If you have difficulty finding these folders they may be hidden, here’s how to unhide them:
· Show hidden folder Windows 7
o Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, then clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
o Click the View tab.
o Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.in
· Show hidden folder Windows 8.1 or 10
o Open Folder Options by typing Windows Key + I, click on Control Panel, click Folder Options, Click the View tab.
o Under Advanced settings, Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK
Many of our clients have found that creating a shortcut to the 2.0 folder to be beneficial.
